Tapio Wirkkala worked with Rosenthal AG in Germany for decades beginning in 1956, producing 15 porcelain tableware services and over 200 different objects. One of Wirkkala’s most popular designs, the Paper Bag Vase takes a pedestrian and transient found object and converts it into an object of beauty, wit and permanence. Produced in a variety of sizes and in glazed and bisque porcelain, this is one of the larger glazed versions.
