Dorothy Hafner [b. 1952] is an American ceramicist and glass artist. She founded Art in Dining in NYC in 1979, designing tableware for Neiman Marcus, Tiffany & Co, and Rosenthal.
Hafner began working with Rosenthal after some of her original hand cast designs proved too expensive to produce. The resulting collection, fine-tuned for industrial production and titled “Flash,” was introduced in 1984 and quickly won both critical and commercial success worldwide. Flash’s patterns and shapes are emblematic of 1980s design.
