Richard Meier was the youngest recipient of the Pritzker Prize, which is the highest honor an architect can receive. Swid Powell was founded 1982 and produced innovative designs by the foremost architects of the time. Meier is quoted as saying “Architecture is art, but it has to be functional. Objects should carry the same philosophy. They should work perfectly in all environments, be useful yet elegant, and help to create a sense of event.” This circular tray features a softly squared center depression with square perforations around the perimeter like many of Richard Meier’s pieces for Swid Powell.
