Bjørn Wiinblad’s lyrical, romantic designs set him apart from his mid-century contemporaries. Nowhere more so than in this small, but exuberant gold on white vase from his Quatre Couleurs series created while chief designer at German porcelain company Rosenthal. Since its beginnings as a manufacturer of white porcelain at the beginning of the 20th century, Rosenthal has collaborated with some of the biggest names in art and design, including Raymond Loewy, Tapio Wirkkala, Walter Gropius, Andy Warhol, and Versace.
