Marcello Morandini (born 15 May 1940) is an Italian architect, sculptor, and graphic designer. His visual style involves assembling of repetitive simple forms, often in just black and white, into complex objects. This spiraling tower of black porcelain for Rosenthal is just such an object in tabletop form. A matte glaze covers to outside while the interior is glossy.
