Phillippe Starck is one of the most widely known designers of the late 20th and early 21st centuries, working across a wide range of projects including interiors, products, boats, and even spaceships. His often-fanciful work epitomizes the intersection of art and design.
This design was part of a collection of furniture and accessories conceived by Starck for a re-styling of L'Oréal hairdressing salons, produced by Maletti Italy and distributed by Présence Paris. It existed in 2 variants: with/as a mirror for the individual dressing tables and with glass plates as a photo frame or price list holder. Its chrome shark fin is recurring element in Starck’s designs of the 1980s.
