Ivan Weiss (born 1946) is a Danish ceramist based in Denmark. At the age of sixteen he was trained as overglaze painter at Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory from 1962 to 1966. Apprenticed to the artistic director Nils Thorsson, Ivan obtained a great insight to the ceramic field. After a two year sojourn to Japan, he was reemployed as a ceramist at Royal Copenhagen, continuing his collaboration with Nils Thorsson and creating ceramics in a separate studio until 2004. This vase’s stylized vision of nature is typical of his designs.
