One of the Halstonettes in 1970s New York, Elsa Peretti began making jewelry for a handful of fashion designers including Halston and Giorgio di Sant’ Angelo. Peretti signed a contract with Tiffany & Co. in 1974 and continued to be a featured designer until her death in 2021. Her pieces incorporate organic forms, have an appreciation of the human body, and bridge the gap between costume and serious jewelry. Along with jewelry, Peretti created many tabletop items for Tiffany. This thumbprint bowl has been produced in many sizes and finishes since it's introduction, but this early, earthy version in terracotta is a full expression of Peretti's mastery of organic luxe. No longer in production.
