One of the Halstonettes in 1970s New York, Elsa Peretti began making jewelry for a handful of fashion designers including Halston and Giorgio di Sant’ Angelo. Peretti signed a contract with Tiffany & Co. in 1974 and continues to be a featured designer there today. Her pieces incorporate organic forms, have an appreciation of the human body, and bridge the gap between costume and serious jewelry. Along with jewelry, Peretti has created many tabletop designs, including this heart-shaped box in silver, crystal, leather and here, terracotta, no longer in production
