Onyx glazed pottery was introduced in 1910 by JW McCoy and his J.W. Pottery Co. Onyx pieces were produced by subsequent iterations of the company - Brush-McCoy and Brush – and later Nelson McCoy. This Jardiniere with with it’s sunburst design and mixed glazes is a wonderful example of American production pottery of the art deco era.
